Salad Serving Set, Stainless Steel Parts
Impressive! Deservedly so. Each piece measures 11" and the beading space is 2-1/4", or a little more, depending on how far you screw the ball end on. They accommodate any type of bead with at least a 3/32" diameter hole. They are made of stainless steel. The sppon/fork portion measures (don't know yet, about 2 3/4") wide by 11" long.
Great for lampwork, polymer clay, beaded beads, precious metal beads, and
other artwork. If you are purchasing beads, rather than making them. always
make sure the hole size is large enough before purchasing. If you have
proper tools, you can ream holes on some beads.

Click here to get it straight from Adobe http://www.adobe.com Other than hand-made glass, polymer beads, Precious Metal Clay, and Beaded Beads (seed beads over wooden beads), most of the large hole beads are acrylic, metalicized acrylic, or wood. Most come from The Beadery, (thebeadery.com) a company that sells through craft retailers such as Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnns, Wal-Mart, and other stores. Their beads are also sold on internet sites. You can look at their site for bead names and numbers, then look for a source on the internet. Darice (darice.com) also distributes comparable beads through retailers and internet sites. Many acrylic, metalicized acrylic, and wood beads do not have a big enough hole. Be sure to take something with you to measure. If you are adventurous, you can ream, or drill a larger hole in the acrylic beads, but it's not fun. Some of the glass beads at craft retailers will fit. You can make clay, ceramic, glass, and other beads from other media yourself. Wood forms, such as the spools shown below, ovals, rounds, etc., can be purchased at craft stores, and on the internet. These can be covered with beads. A Swarovski bead that can be used is shown below. Remember, the Plastic body pens require an even larger hole than these Metal Body Pens, and will not accept the Swarovski bead. |
