Ceiling Fan Pull Specifics and Final Assembly -
24k gold plated. 2 1/16" long, chain is 5 3/4" long, with attachment so it can be added to any ceiling fan. If you need to shorten the chain, pull/press the ball chain out of the 'link' piece, use wire snipping pliers to cut the ball chain, then re-attach the "link" piece. Recessed area is 1/32". You can bead around this tube, as in any of the above projects, or you can put large beads over the tube as the major accent point in your design. The tube is 1/4" in diameter. Wooden beads from the craft store have large holes, and can be used. These wooden beads can be painted, or you can actually bead around the wooden bead . (See Bead & Button (c) magazine Aug. '98 issue.) Making your own polymer clay beads is also a design option. The project goes together as follows:
After you have glued (as described above), or slipped your bead tubes on the brass tubes, begin each step by hand-pressing the parts together, then follow with vise or hammer or Quick-Grip Clamp (r) and rubber/rubber-lined blocks. If your bead design has a ‘top' and a ‘bottom' be aware of how you are glueing it onto the brass tube. There is no need for glue in parts assembly.
The CFP comes in 2 parts: 1) the body tube with a finished gold end, and a chain attached, 2) a finished end cap for the open end of the tube
Press the End cap into the open end of the beaded brass tube. Hammer or vise-press as described above in the general instructions. Always use appropriate cardboard or rubber (as described in the general directions), for protection of the parts.
