.HOW THE PROJECT PARTS WORK

There is some assembly to be done, by you, on these projects, after you have put  your art or craft work designs on them.  If it is anything more than screwing on an Top Ball, the instructions, with diagrams, are printable from the each product page.  The link is called "Final Assembly Instructions".

Specially made items have recessed areas to accept your beads and designs, in classic needleweaving stitches. Some projects accept large hole beads made of glass, polymer clay, precious metal clay, etc.  Some have a removeable shaft that screws into the other project parts, and an end or top cap, or ball, to be screwed back on.

****** These projects come partially assembled, meaning that some parts (such as the clip on the Twist Pen, etc.) are left unassembled to give everyone options in their work.  Such as, a) the ability to leave off the pen clips if you do a more sculptural design, b) the ability to slip your 'design' on and off the project to let you see how you are doing, and try different designs before settling on one design, c) The ability, in beadweaving projects, to do tubular peyote directly on the brass tube (for perfect beading tension), without the clip being in the way.

Any project that has Final Assembly Instructions requires a hammer OR a vise, and 2, one inch squares of thick cardboard, like mat board.  Dense rubber will last much longer.  You may go through several pieces of thick cardboard, because the brass tubes are very sharp.

If a project calls for a part(s) to be hammered in, these parts, after hammering, will NOT come on and off at will.  This applies to projects like the Cross (r) Style Pen Clip and End Cap, etc.   Read all instructions before purchasing.    It's all easy, if you read first.  Everything that needs to have an opening, such as refilling the pen, does come apart appropriately. The brass tubes in each project are left open for you to test and put your beadwork on as described above.  Then they need one or two gentle blows with a hammer (as described, make sure to protect the project parts).  The parts are machined to stay in their place. They actually very slightly expand the brass tubes, so the parts cannot move around, or fall out.  This is necessary because no glue holds as well as this method does.  And glued-in parts cannot normally stand up to the force people sometimes use when clipping pens to things.
